Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the RiftShield AI platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and RiftShield AI.

Please also review our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Service Description

RiftShield AI is an AI-powered business communication platform that provides the following services:

• Intelligent chatbot for customer support and engagement
• Voice call handling and automated phone support
• SMS messaging and two-way text communication
• Online review monitoring and response management
• Automated lead qualification and scoring
• AI-powered content generation for business communications
• Email triage and smart inbox management
• Document processing and data extraction
• Appointment booking and calendar management
• Social media monitoring and alerts
• Comprehensive analytics and reporting dashboard

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. By registering, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• All registration information you provide is accurate, current, and complete
• You will maintain the accuracy of your account information
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You will notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts at our discretion.

4. Subscription & Billing

RiftShield AI offers monthly subscription plans:

• Starter — $49/month
• Growth — $99/month
• Pro — $149/month

All billing is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle is responsible for payment processing, sales tax collection, currency conversion, invoicing, and payment compliance. By subscribing, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service.

Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle. You may cancel at any time as described in Section 10. For refund eligibility, see our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Engage in any illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activity
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk communications
• Abuse, manipulate, or exploit the AI systems in any way
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

6. AI Processing Disclosure

RiftShield AI uses third-party artificial intelligence providers to generate responses and process conversations on your behalf. These providers include:

• Anthropic (Claude)
• Google (Gemini)
• OpenAI (GPT)
• xAI (Grok)

Customer conversation data is transmitted to these providers solely for the purpose of generating AI responses within the Service. RiftShield does not use your customer data to train AI models. Each AI provider processes data in accordance with their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

7. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of your business data, including knowledge base content, FAQs, configuration settings, and conversation logs generated through the Service.

By using the Service, you grant RiftShield AI a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, and transmit your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license terminates when your account is closed and data deletion is complete.

8. Intellectual Property

The RiftShield AI platform, including all software, code, algorithms, AI models, user interface designs, branding, logos, and documentation, is the exclusive property of RiftShield AI and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service under your active subscription.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• RiftShield AI provides the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
• AI-generated responses are automated and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content. You are responsible for reviewing AI outputs before they are relied upon for business decisions
• RiftShield AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for any business decisions, customer interactions, or outcomes based on AI-generated content

10. Cancellation & Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to the Service until that date.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay subscription fees. In such cases, we are not obligated to provide a refund.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email to the address associated with your account.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must discontinue use of the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.
